If something goes wrong
The usual problems, and what to do about each.
A judge cannot connect
- Check the judge's device is on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot as the hub, not on mobile data or another network.
- Turn mobile data off on the judge's phone for the day, so it does not take over when the hotspot is quiet.
- On venue Wi-Fi, try a hotspot instead: some networks keep devices apart.
- Make sure the hub is awake and FloStyle is open on it.
- Send the judge the code with Copy code and have them paste it, if the camera will not scan.
A judge dropped out mid run
Their sheet is kept on their device and sent when they reconnect.
If their device cannot reach the hub at all, it can still hand the sheet over: under Your sheets in their waiting room, the code button beside the run shows it as a QR code, and the chief judge reads it in with Scan hand-off under More in the console. If the device is gone for good, Lock anyway locks the run without that judge.
Lost the publish key
Without the key the results on the site cannot be changed from another device. Email technical@lavalogic.co.uk with the competition's name and we can set a new one.
The hub tablet is lost or broken
Keep a backup during the day: Export all competition data, under Backup and end competition on the Details step. On another device, Import a backup under More on the competition screen puts the whole day back.
Ended the competition by mistake
Open it from Backup and end competition on the Details step and tap Reopen competition.
Anything else
